    I think that it is all preference. Since they are your drafts, they will only be as shitty as you let them be. In order to have a final draft you need to keep improving your first drafts until it is the way that you want it. This does not really apply if you have to write to a rubric though since you are given outlines you need to follow. In some cases, your first draft can be your final draft, but it is all up to you and how you want your finished product to be.
